Potato  / batata ki sabji

INGREDIENTS: -   3 /4 batata ( potato),  2/3 big Onion ( finely chopped),  1 big Tomato ( finely chopped),  oil as required,  salt as required,  1/2 tablespoon turmeric powder,  ½  tablespoon red chili powder,  1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds,  4/5 green chilies.

Process to make potato / batata ki sabji :-

1- Firstly take potaoes ( batata) and wash then and put into a pressure cooker and  add some water and salt and cooked it.
2- After this peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces. ( don’t cut potatoes ( batata into too small pieces).
3- After this take a kadhai and heat oil in a kadhai .
4- After this add cumin seeds and wait till the cumin seeds splutter then add  green chili ( finely chopped) and onion ( finely chopped) and mix it ( cook onion till it gets soft ).
5 - Once the onion gets soft then  add tomato ( finely chopped) and wait till the tomatoes get soft  and then add  turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt as required and mix it well again.
6 - After this add potatoes ( batata ) and mix it well so that all the spices get mix with potatoes nicely  and then cover the kadhai with a lid or plate and  keep it on a low flame.
7- After 5 to 10 minutes mix it again well and add some chopped coriander leaves and then again cover it with lid for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes remove the lid mix it.

8 – Finally simple potato sabji is ready to serve




Kala Chana sabji

Ingredients:-   Oil,  1 teaspoon cumin seeds,  ½ teaspoon cinnamon,  3 pods cardamom, 3 cloves,  1 bay leaf,  1 teaspoon dry fenugreek ( methi)  leaves,  pinch of hing,  1 onion, 3 green chilli, 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste,  1 cup tomato,  ½ tsp turmeric powder,  1 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder,  2 to 3 cup water,  1 teaspoon amchur powder,  salt as required,  ½ teaspoon garam masala,  1 cup black chana (soak chana overnight),  coiander leaves chopped.

1 – First take kala chana and washed it with clean water and soak it for some hours or overnight.
2 – Once the chana is soaked.
3 – Now take soaked chana and wash it with clean water and then take pressure cooker and put chana into it and pinch of salt and cook chana for 3 whistles.
4 – Now take a kadhai and add oil into it and heat the oil.
5 – Once the oil get heat then add cumin seeds, cinnamom, cardamom, bay leaf  and once it splutter then add  oinion ( finely chopped), green chili ( finely chopped), ginger garlic paste and sauté it well.
6 – After this add tomatoes ( finely chopped) and cook till tomatoes gets soft.
7 – Now add turmeric powder, dry fenugreek ( methi)  leaves, red chili powder, coriander powder, amchur powder, garam masala and salt as required and saute it well and then cover the kadhai with lid  for 5 minutes or till the onion and tomatoes gets soft.
8 – Then add chana ( cooked) and mix it well so that all the mixture get mix well.
9 – Now again cover the kadhai with lid and keep it for 5 minutes.
10 – After 5 minutes remove the lid and add 3 to 4 cup of water ( don’t add too much water)  and sauté it and then keep it for boiling.
11 – Once it starts boiling then low the flame and keep it for boling.
12 – Now add some chopped  coriander leaves and the mix it again.
13 – Now the chana sabji is ready to serve. Serve it with roti or chapatti as you like.
